Kioku Cha was born from a shared love for tea and the experiences surrounding it, deeply influenced by time spent in Japan. For most of us, this connection comes from having lived there, where tea is not simply a beverage, but an everyday ritual rooted in care, attention, and purpose. Tea is woven into daily life in a way that feels natural and grounding.

That appreciation deepened further through close relationships and continued learning. Being exposed to Japanese tea culture through someone who spent many years living in Japan opened the door to understanding tea beyond matcha alone. In Japan, many people grow up drinking tea daily, often more than water. It includes a wide range of teas, each enjoyed with intention, tenderness, and respect.

“Kioku” means “memory” in Japanese. This brand is about sharing the meaningful memories we have made in Japan and creating new ones together. While matcha is where we begin, we do not want tea to exist as just another trend. Our focus is on education, cultural appreciation, and the quiet joy found in tea rituals.

We also hope to collaborate with others who share the same values, so we can continue building a community rooted in mindful living, cultural respect, and, of course, good tea. In time, we hope to expand into other Japanese teas and explore additional aspects of Japanese culture and lifestyle.
